I bought a second hand trailer from a guy in Newcastle who had it to transport two Quad bikes. It is long and narrow. This picture is of my magnetic drill drilling into the uprights. I knew I had a magnetic drill for some reason! I built the frame to enclose the trailer out of timber, LVLs. The original trailer is and was way out of square. I cant weld and timber is easy to work with but I may come to regret this decision. I cladded the the frame with formwork as it is plywood that lasts and is cheaper than marine ply. I attached new a number plate as the old one was mangled and also new LED lights. The lights where to become a problem as you new a load adapter for VW so as to not short out modern cars! Aluminium composite panel is glued and fixed to the form ply. I measured and draw up each piece in AutoCAD and sent the DXF files to David Petrie in Cromer who has a CAD/CAM. One side of the the trailer is red for Severne branding. This trailer will become the Test Centre for Severne in the Sydney Market. Harken Hardware for the sliding doors on the both sides with polished Stainless Steel patch plates, well you got to have some bling! The port side is Black for Patrik Boards signage. Racking and fake grass make up the interior. I'm hoping to house 9 or 10 boards inside. It is just wide enough for the Formula board. There is still work to be done in the coming weeks, trims, signage and probably changes to design! :-)
